Program Description

This one day workshop is designed for training managers and HODs who intend to embark on e-learning to maximize the training of their internal staffs. The workshop focuses on the pragmatic aspects of e-learning and its development process, to help managers acquire an overview understanding of e-learning, implication and requirement of e-learning content creation; and how they can plan resources effectively to maintain and integrate e-learning into their trainings with ease.

About the Trainer

MH has more than 10 years of experience in e-publishing strategies and educational ICT development. She had experience in setting up digital media teams in Whanz Studio, a startup company, Pearson Singapore and in her own company Pixnplay Pte Ltd, from ground zero. In each, she specialised in diverse areas such as e-publishing, educational multimedia designs, mobile app development etc. In her years as a manager and director, Minghui had personally trained more than 30 subordinate staffs and interns to become capable educational media specialists and e-learning designers.

During her time with established international publisher, Pearson, she was responsible for the management of the digital media team and drove digital media initiatives and collaboration between Pearson SG and Pearson Asia Pacific. She was behind the E-Book initiatives for all Pearson SG textbooks and the FutureSchool@Crescent Project, which involved the development of a complex educational technology called WriteToLearnTM. She and her team also specialised in instructional design for Singapore MOE projects and developed more than a hundred CD-ROM and digital learning materials, including numerous K12 market titles. One of this educational series “Primary Health

Education CD-ROM Series” was very well received by MOE curriculum specialists and teachers for its pedagogy design and creativity. It also won a Singapore Publication of the Year accolade from Pearson Singapore, out of the hundreds of educational titles published that year. After 6 years of e-publishing, instructional design experience, hundreds of creative educational titles under her belt, MH moved on to explore new avenues for learning design beyond the school arena in 2011.

After leaving Pearson, she started her own instructional design company Pixel Interactive specialising in educational learning apps for young children and garnered several educational awards overseas. In 2014, one of her educational app “Fido’s Scavenger Hunt” won the Best in Category award in the Horizon Awards (Educational Games Category), which was the highest accolade possible for educational game. She also designed training courses and developed corporate e-learning for established multinational and local companies such as Volvo, UOB, Certis Cisco, TNA and LDR. In 2013, as part of an acquisition and merger with a partner company, MH expanded her digital media design and development capability to cater to mobile app development for corporate clients.

Fuelled by her passion for learning design, MH enrolled in an instructional design master degree course at NTU-NIE. She had completed all her coursework at Master of Arts in Instructional Design and Technology at NTU-NIE with A-grade results and is closing in on her final dissertation.

As a trainer, MH had lectured at ACE Institute professionally and had undertaken internal staff training for editorial teams, design teams and their HODs during each of her positions. As the digital media manager and later director at her own company, she was very often tasked by management to enable ICT skills of non-ICT staffs from the design and editorial teams through work flow designs and ICT trainings.
